The village of Greenport is a very active and special place, bookended by the Great Peconic Bay on our south side, and the Long Island Sound to the North.
It’s one of the few seaside towns on Long Island where you don’t need a car. Once you arrive, just about everything you need is well within walking distance. The neighborhood is home to a variety of local businesses, shops, restaurants, bars and unique historic sites.
The American Beech Hotel reception and boutique can be found closest to the Main Street entrance of Stirling Square. Guests can shop, eat, drink, and spend all evening in the square.
The hotel benefits from a central yet private location. All at once we’re tucked away while also being right in the heart of things. Guests love being able to step outside into the action, but please be aware, you can expect ambient noise like music and conversation. Due to factors beyond our control, we are unable to guarantee complete quiet in the rooms during the high season and weekends.
If you are approaching us from Route 25 (Main Road), make a left at the flashing red light and Stirling Square is on your right hand side, just after the Chase Bank. If you are coming from Route 48 (Sound Avenue), turn right onto Main Street at the traffic light and we will be on the left side of the street after Emilio’s Restaurant.
There is free street parking available close by. We recommend parking on Bay Avenue, which is perpendicular to Main Street and has direct access to Stirling Square.
